DNA Coaching Tools

The Church Transformation Survey (CTS) – An exciting new tool to gain insight into the vitality of a church. It is objective, can be completed by one or two people in an hour and measures the performance of the church in key areas related to transformation. It can be used by a single local church or across a judicatory.

The Church Transformation Survey Workbook (CTSW) – A very helpful tool designed to be used with the Church Transformation Survey. It explains the CTS in greater detail, provides coaching tips for leaders and describes specific ways in which the ten areas measured on the CTS can be strengthened in the local church.

Transformation Talks – A great new resource to foster conversation and action in the local church on key aspects of transformation. Designed for use by small groups, committees and teams, topics include leadership, worship, finances, hospitality, guest follow-up and more.

The Ministry Performance Review (MPR) – A comprehensive ministry consultation tool. The data collected in the MPR and returned to DNA Coaching provides the basis for a consultation report highlighting ministry strengths, ministry weaknesses and detailed recommendations for moving the church towards greater effectiveness.

The Ministry Role and Review Survey (MRRS) – Designed for churches with more than two employees, this tool helps to clarify position descriptions and get the right people in the right places. It can identify the differences between job expectations (job description) and actual job duties, the elements of the job most and least enjoyed by the employee, possibilities for improved performance and much more.

The Performance Review and Development Plan (PRDP) – An evaluation tool for pastors and other staff members. This resource not only provides a multi-faceted approach to evaluating performance but also encourages the development of an intentional and focused plan for improving performance.

Measuring the Marks of Discipleship (MMD) – A brief congregational survey designed to measure the degree of discipleship present across a congregation. Emphasis is placed on the degree to which people actually engage in key indicators (prayer, Bible reading, small group participation, etc.).

Practical, Pragmatic Church Growth – This is Don’s book on congregational transformation. It includes practical suggestions for strengthening ministry in a wide variety of areas and each area features a checklist of actions that can be taken. Also included are coaching tips for implementing change and two approaches to designing and mapping ministry – both present and future.

Training and Workshops – now in VHS or DVD
DNA Coaching continues to develop its line of training videos and DVDs. From hospitality to dealing with change, from effective preaching to effective administration, these tools will strengthen ministry. Custom content creation is available for large orders.

Church Autopsies – Determining What Went Wrong – A tool for identifying the underlying factors that led to the closure of a church. Designed with information and key questions surrounding the most common causes of church decline, it is designed in two sections – the closing of new church starts and the closing of existing churches. The focus is on strengthening the system to avoid future closures.
